Why won’t the website allow me to register for the class I am choosing? The Flex website is your most convenient way to get involved. If it does not allow you to register, try the following solutions: • Add your payment method of choice (even for a Trial- see above) • Make sure your start date is within 2 weeks of the date you are enrolling. Flex allows enrollment up to 2 weeks from the start date to keep things fair for everyone. • Some classes are invitation only, such as Intermediate and Advanced Gymnastics, Yellow and Green Ninja, Team Gymnastics etc. Please select an entry level class, or contact us in special cases via info@flexgymnast.com • The class may be full. In this case, you can enroll on the waitlist. You may also find a different time the class is held and join actively. Students can be in one class while waiting on another.
-
Can parents stay to watch classes?Yes, Flex provides a parent viewing area overlooking the main floor, that includes close circuit television of classes as well.
-
Can adults do gymnastics at Flex?Flex cannot facilitate adult gymnastics because we are not properly insured to do so.
-
What is the difference between gymnastics and tumbling classes? All gymnastic classes at Flex focus on the four disciplines of the sport- vault, bars, beam, and floor. Each week the class will work on two of these areas, with the other two being featured the next week. Tumbling classes are totally on the floor exercises. Some gymnasts supplement their gymnastic classes with tumbling, which is also popular with dancers and cheerleaders.
-
What is the procedure to end my enrollment?Simply send an email to info@flexgymnast.com requesting a “drop”. We ask for 30 days notice so that we can plan our staffing.
-
Does age determine where my child starts or fits in?Not beyond our Preschool and Lil Ninja programs which are for 3-5 year olds. Once a student is 6, his or her level is determined by the skills and aptitude they possess. Many students that are very young excel at gymnastics. It is not unusual for older girls who are starting to be in classes with those much younger than they.
-
Is my class the same day and time each week?Yes. If you choose Monday at 3pm, then you come every Monday at 3pm.
-
How can my child get involved in the Flex Team?Students progress through our Recreational program, and those that demonstrate aptitude and attitude commiserate with our Team philosophy may be invited to join. Flex also has had athletes join in the offseason from other gyms. We have open tryouts each year for athletes who are interested but not yet invited. Participation in the tryout does not guarantee a spot on the team, but does allow us to realize the interest, and for you to be evaluated and provided a roadmap to being ready to compete in the future. Progression through the Recreational program at Flex would normally be from Girls Gymnastics to Intermediate, and then Advanced. Beyond Advanced would only be Pre Team or Team. Team gymnastics involves a significant commitment of time and money from the gymnast and family, along with the commitment we provide at Flex to make certain athletes grow and succeed in a fun, safe environment.
-
Can I try a class to make certain it is a fit without making a commitment?Yes. When enrolling in the class of your choice, find the drop down menu that allows you to request a Trial. The Trial provides the first class at no cost to you. The system will require you to enter your credit card information, but you WILL NOT be charged until and unless you opt into the program actively.
-
Can we choose to stay enrolled and pay the tuition even if we know we will miss several classes?Yes- many families follow this strategy to keep as the classes are in high demand. We will still provide you with one makeup a month upon your return.
-
How do I get started? The best way to get involved is from our website, www.flexgymnast.com register your family and add your child(ren) as the student(s). Be sure to fill out the Waiver and add your payment method of choice.
-
Can we “pause” our enrollment? There is no process for a “pause”. To leave for a period of time, it would be a “drop”, and we welcome you back when you are ready. There is no additional Registration Fee to come back if the return is within a year of your Anniversary date. That fee is charged only when you are actively enrolled on your Anniversary date, or the first time you join, or if you return more than a year from the Anniversary date.
-
Does Flex have competitive gymnastics?Yes, Flex has a successful program that competes in the Xcel and USAG.
-
What if my child’s schedule changes? You are able to Transfer to the same program at another day and/or time at your convenience. You may transfer through your account on the portal, or work with our front desk.
-
When do classes start and end throughout the year? The classes at Flex run year-round and continue without end. Students come and go throughout the process, and are offered promotions as aptitude, focus, and behavior determine. Although beginners may not be as skilled as veterans, lesson plans and instructors know how to meet each athlete where they are. Classes focus on fundamentals of each discipline.
-
What if I miss a class?Flex is happy to provide makeup classes for family travel or illness. We try to limit these makeups to one a month, and they can only be provided after the absence. The best way to book a makeup is to visit www.flexgymnast.com to find a class with availability that fits your schedule, and email the specific request to info@flexgymnast.com so we can book it right away. Flex does not provide makeup classes for our planned closures. We charge the same tuition every month, so some months will have 5 class opportunities, most have 4, and some only 3 because of Holidays. We make sure you get 48 opportunities each year.
-
How am I charged when I join actively?Flex charges an Annual Registration Fee of $50 (one per family per year) and prorated tuition for the current month upon joining. Subsequent months are charged automatically on the last day of the preceding month. Flex always changes the same tuition, regardless of how many class opportunities exist in a given month. Some months will have 5 Mondays for example, while most will have 4, and some only 3 due to our planned closures for Holidays. We make certain every day of the week has 48 class opportunities throughout the year.
-
Does Flex offer Boy’s Gymnastics?Flex offers boys the opportunity to be introduced to gymnastics in our Preschool program for ages 3-5. We do not offer gymnastics for boys beyond the age of 5, based on the space available, the different equipment needed, as well as the specialized coaching required. Flex offers the Ninja program to boys of all ages!
